Back To School

Hello Peeps!!!
How are u guys doin? Sorry for not updating for so long..
the blog should've been updated like last week but was so busy and tired.

Let me just try to recap the incidents that happened during the first 2 weeks of school.

First day, 16th April 2007
I had to get up earlier than usual. I can't remember whether or not I slept early or late the night before. In any case, I didn't really feel tired because I was SO DAMN EXCITED! I came to school in my new shirt, new bag, my favourite jeans and my same old laptop. I left home at about 7am. I didn't want to be late although class starts at 8am. So off I went to school. Took the train to Dover station. As usual, the train was really packed. There were so many people at the station. Most of them waiting for their classmates/friends. I, didn't have to wait for anyone or anyone waiting for me. Saw Hafizah with her classmates. She said 'Hi' because she noticed me first. It feels weird to be entering a totally different school. Plus, it's really huge. I made my way to the School of Business which is all the way up the hill. My first class was at T22433. At first, I didn't know how to read it. Like there's just too many numbers right? Then I figured the first 2 digits are the block numbers. The 3rd one is the level and the last 2 are the door numbers. Interesting huh? Well, I couldn't believe I was smart to even do that.

So our first lesson was CREATIVE COMMUNICATION. It's kinda like English. And our teacher or should I say lecturer is Mr Tan. He's quite nice. We first had to introduce ourselves as usual. We had to play some mind games. You know, those which are like riddles and stuff. We got into groups. And I felt bad cuz I'm like the dumbest in the group. U know me. Afterwards, we had to write a story about what happened when we came to school. So I wrote a story which is quite like what I just wrote above. After class, we had a 6 hour break. From 10am to 4pm. I was bored. The rest of them were discussing where they wanna eat and stuff. I just left and ate at McDonald's which is at Block 1, alone. I know it's really pathetic but sometimes I'm just a loner. It's not that I didn't want to socialize. I just didn't know how. Firstly, there's nobody from Hua Yi who's in my class or my course even. And secondly, I just didn't like the idea of going together as a class everywhere. Sorry.

The next thing I did was probably exploring the school. Oh, I forgot. I went to block 14 hoping to get my computer fixed. It was giving me lots of problems like I can't go internet cause it keeps hanging. And at that time I was with a group of people. Jen, Matthew and Sin Kai. Really nice people. I thought I had a 'clique' for a while. Well....

We had a lecture at 4pm that day. It sucks really. After a long break, you have to come back to study again. I can't remember what the lesson's about. But it has got to do with business, of course =(. It ended at 5pm...yay!

2nd day, 17th April 2007
School starts at 9am on that day. First lesson was lecture. I was early again. I was reading near MLT 9 when Shaun came. He is the class rep. The chairman/CEO in other words. When asked why he was chosen as the class rep. We said he looks responsible. HEHE. He does really. My class was late again. Oh, I forgot my class is DMC 04. There's a total of 5 DMC classes. DMC stands for Diploma in Media and Communications.

At 10, we had Fundamentals of Marketing. The first lesson's quite interesting. The lecturer told us about how we're going to score for the subject by participating in class. He has like a deck of poker cards with him. And when you answer his questions in class, he'll reward you with 1 card which is 'worth' 0.3 marks. You need to get about 15 marks for class participation.=( I had 1 ,only.

The lesson was from 10am to 1pm supposedly but we were released at 11.45am. It would be great if we didn't have to come back but unfortunately we had to cause there's another tutorial at 3pm. During lunchtime, I went to eat alone, again.

3rd day, 18th april 2007
Class starts at 10am. This time, the class was at T2144. It was Character Development. I was early again. While waiting for the rest of my classmates to arrive, I waited outside the classroom. I thought the room was empty so I opened the door. There was another class. The lecturer and students stared at me. I was so embarrased. I said sorry. God, I looked like a fool for a second there. A few minutes later, my lecturer came. I can't really remember his name though. But he's a nice man. Nadine, a classmate and myself were the first 2 student to arrive on time. The rest came about 5 or 10 minutes later. I was the only person sitting at the first row. I would be lying if I say that I didn't feel awkward. But hey, I just had to pretend to be okay with it. Then we got into groups because we're gonna be doing some community work at non-profit organizations. We decided to work with children rather than old folks. Go figure out the reason. We're supposed to go there and keep them entertained for 7 hours. Yup. On top of that, we have to do a skit on topics like Sex Education, Teenagers, Work, Lifestyle and Social Corporate Responsibility. Our group chose lifestyle. The group discussion was actually the time for me to actually mingle with them.

4th day, 19th April 2007
The first lesson for the day was at 10am. When I walked into the classroom, there's this lecturer who was already there and she looked fierce. We were supposed to present ourselves for 3 minutes in front of the class. Tell them about 3 interesting things about ourselves and why we're special. When it was my turn to present, I told them I could sing. I can cook and I can walk from Pasir Ris to Boon Lay and not feel tired. Ok. Probably I exaggerated a little bit. Then, the lecturer asked me to sing. I was like shy lah obviously. But then I sang More Than Words. The class applauded. Yay? The presentations were really cool because I got to know more things about my classmates. Some wanted to be Models, there's like a psycho maniac, a Westlife fan(Jays should be really glad)...
And then the lecturer introduced herself to us. She said that she used to go on mountain climbing trips and once went to Mount Kilimanjaro. During their trip, they were stucked for 15 days because it was snowing. They didn't have food and water. They 'drank' the snow and had to eat human flesh because 3 members died. We were disgusted of course. And she moved on to say that the module has been changed to Life Skills instead of Oral Communication. She said that part of the programme would be speed dating. I mean, we're going to be partnered with someone from another school and by the end of our 3 years, we're going to have our own boyfriend or girlfriend. It sounded silly obviously because usually schools don't encourage BGR. And SP happens to be the 1st one to do this. This is because of the ageing population problem we're having now. Crap. You will have to fill in a form before you go on your speed dating. And If you're gay/lesbian, you have to indicate in your form so that they'll pair you up with a boy/girl. And if you already have a boy/girlfriend, you can opt out of the programme but your partner, parents and friends will have to be interviewed to ensure that you're not lying. And for 3 years, you can't breakup or you'll have to join the programme. CRAPPY!
After so much of talk, a classmate 'exposed' her and we were punk'd! Like what the hell. The lesson is afterall ORAL COMMUNICATION so sounding convincing is just part of the whole thing.

We had a 1 hour break till our next lesson. I was standing outside the door of our next class when a group of my classmates came up to me. Priya asked me why I was not socializing and stuff. I was lost for words. And then the other girls commented on my dressing. Novea said that I'll look better if I tucked my shirt out cause I was wearing my pants too high. I guess so. I'm a fashion disaster afterall =(. Well, the lesson was Desktop Publishing. And guess what we're learning? PHOTOSHOP!! YAY!! It's something I've been wanting to learn since it first became popular in school. We're supposed to follow what the teacher did and this is my first artwork:

It's actually a chef if you don't know what it is. Cool huh?

After the lesson, we had a lecture. I didn't know why but I started to become sarcastic and 'lame' again. I wasn't shy to look silly anymore.

5th day, 20th April 2007
FRIDAY!!! MY MOST FAVOURITE DAY OF THE WEEK!! We had a lecture at 9am. During our 3 hour break, I sat alone at the benches and played my laptop. And then there was this group of first year DBIT students who came to sit down and do their project. As I was about to pack my stuff, I overheard them talking about online shopping. Being an 'expert', I decided to contribute a little since they've never shopped online before. So I told them the reason for people to shop online is because sometimes you just can't get certain things here.
During our next tutorial, we had to interview our friend and introduce them. It was fun because the questions asked are like what's your favourite TV programme..favourite actor/actress..obviously, American Idol and Lindsay Lohan had to be in my list. And I also learned more stuff about my classmates. Most of them like Johnny Depp(Jays should be happy...again)..

And the rest was history...

During the weekend, I accompanied my mum to this place called SATA. It's where you get injections and x-rays when you work in F&B and stuff. My mum just started work at Ngee Ann Poly. She works at the chicken rice stall and I get to eat them everyday.YUMMY! She also met some famous people like Sharon Ismail(A Suria channel TV host)she's a lecturer there...and Paul Twohill(I'm sure you know him right)..he studies there..=)

I went to Yami's house on Sunday and then to Jurong Point. Met up with the Assemblage(is that right? I seriously don't know the meaning=(...) well..it was Syafik, Azhar, Shameel and Naif. We met them at the library though.

23rd April 2007
My 2nd week of school. I didn't want anything to go wrong. So I started to style my hair, wear the right clothes and try not to wear the same thing twice. And something new for me. Wearing my jeans lower than usual. Fine, I confess. I usually wear it really high. I had to buckle up really tight or else my jeans would just keep on dropping and that irritates me a lot. Well, for the first time, I had lunch with my classmates..well, just a few of them. Namely Jovis, Lee Yan, Aqmar and Aileen. I ate at this place called Waffleton. It's really nice, They have waffles(Like duh...that's why it's called waffleton)...and some western food like fish and chips and chicken cutlets. We talked a lot. About secondary school and then we gossiped about our classmates a little(I know, I just can't stop can I?)

24th April 2007
I had my first Drama club meeting. But over here, they call it Theatre Compass. Don't ask my why. At first Hafizah was there and then she disappeared. We played games. One of which I can't forget is this one where the guys and girls had to stand in 1 row from shortest to tallest. We're supposed to put our hands together but one hand holds the hand of the person at the back and another one holds the hand of the person at the front. Basically, we're supposed to go under everyone. It was fun and funny. Cuz we had to 'open our legs really wide'. The senior even asked me : Are your pants going to tear?...I said: Not yet..
We eventually went home at 9.

25th April 2007
We had a little fire drill. It was really silly because it took really long just to get to the field. And when we got there, that's it. We can go. Isn't that stupid? There was no stupid talk or anything.
Aah...we had this thing called "Connect '07"..basically it's an orientation programme for DMC freshies....I really like the dress code. Black and White OR All Black/All White...I came in a long sleeved top and black pants. We were divided into groups like Hearts, Diamonds, Blacks, Whites, Polka-Dots and Stars. I was a 'star'. And we only had about 8 or 9 people. There were games. The first game was this balloon game. You have to tie up 2 balloons to your legs. And your king/queen will have 4 balloons. You're supposed to protect your king/queen and still try to burst other people's balloons. I thought I would just freak out by the sound of the balloons bursting but no I didn't. It felt normal actually. It got a little rough actually. But what the heck. It's FUN!!!

The next game was called 'Dance Floor'. We're supposed to send 2 representatives. They were blindfolded and suppose to dance to the different songs that were played. There were like Akon's Smack That, Fergie's Glamorous, Gwen Stefani's Wind It Up and so on. The winner went home with ice-cream vouchers and a crown.(Not a tiara)..

For the last game, the prize at stake was a trip for 2 to Genting Highlands. You're supposed to get an IC of someone born in the year 1987 and someone with a white hair band. I didn't win of course.

***I just remembered something. You know my lesson Creative Communication right? We were supposed to re-write stories like Little Red Riding Hood and Rapunzel. For LRRH, the teacher showed us different interpretations of the story. There was one which was very 'dark'..and another one which is like a SIMS movie. It was kinda dirty. The LRRH and the grandmother had big boobs and they were riding each other-If you know what I mean..

For Rapunzel, he showed us the different kinds of Rapunzels potrayed. When she's sweet, she looks like Barbie. When she's gothic she looks really gothic. And then there was Pornographic. A lady with long hair and not wearing anything was flashed on the screen. Mind you, her boobs were not censored so everyone saw the REAL thing. I couldn't believe it. They can do this in poly? I really didn't see that coming.

26th April 2007
For Oral Comm, we were divided into groups again but this time based on what color of clothing we were wearing. There were the whites, the greens, the colorful ones and the blacks. I was a black. For Desktop Publishing, the teacher showed us the final picture that we're supposed to do but this time, she's not gonna teach us how to do. We're supposed to figure it out on out own. Let me show you my unfinished artwork:

27th April 2007
I auditioned for SP Crescendo '07. I didn't know what song to sing at first. It was either More Than Words or Heaven Knows. And it was kinda like an open audition because the other contestants are in the same room listening to you sing. I was the 4th person to sing and the 1st guy to perform. We were supposed to sing only half of the song so I stopped at the first chorus. I'm not sure whether I'm in or not because I was nervous and all. But I guess I did my best. The people there were like 'Dude, you can sing!'...it's not from the judges though.

Right after that, I rushed to MLT 12 for the briefing of the SP Comperes. If you've never heard of this word, it's pronounced like compares(you know..comparing)..It's like emcee-ing kinda thing. We have to go for auditions in order to get selected. Based on my Kids Central experience, guess, I'm kinda try this I guess..

Today, 28th April 2007
I helped someone who was stucked in the lift. I watched Crossroads on channel 5. What can I say, I'm a Britney fan. And sang into my ps2. Sang the same songs over and over again. But my favourite is Helena cuz I think it's the only song where I can scream at the top of my lungs. The easiest song would be Chasing Cars. Really nice and slow.

Anyways, I'm getting really tired and sleepy. Sorry for writing so much. Just don't fall asleep ok. There's actually more stuff I wanna say but i guess 'the rest is still unwritten'..hehe

Hey!!!
I realized I've not blogged for quite some time...
Truth is, I've always felt like blogging but I'm just plain lazy...

SO...here goes...
I seriously can't remember whatever I did like 1 week ago...but I did go out during the Good Friday holiday. I went out with Jays. We went to Singapore Expo because she wanted to go for this Books Warehouse Sale. I'm not a bookworm so I was not really into it..But still, I bought 2 autobiographies. The Clay Aiken book costs $5 only! Usual price would be about $30+...and a Destiny's Child book which costs $10...

After that, we went to Orchard Road. We alighted at Somerset because HMV's nearer to Somerset. I thought of buying the new Gwen Stefani album 'The Sweet Escape'. But I figured that probably I'll buy it when there's a special edition of it or something. In the end, I bought the 100 Essential Love Songs cd cause I've been wanting it since like months ago and plus, there's the song 'Cool' by Gwen Stefani. Wo-kay..I know that's the second time me mentioning Gwen(Now it's 3rd time)...I don't know why..suddenly I'm into her music after watching her performance on American Idol. Plus, she's really pretty..=)

We then went to Shaw House(Or is it Shaw Centre?) to eat..and shop. I went to Topman to get some clothes. But, after trying on a few different clothes, I decided to buy this pair of pants. It's not jeans...I don't know how to describe it. But it's nice..

I thought of wearing the pants to work on the following day to work(Saturday, 7th April) but when I got home, I found out that I picked out the wrong size! I tried out a different pair and then I took another 'new' one from the rack or whatever u call it. The hangers have the sizes on them so I just read it off from there and not look at the REAL size. So it was 2 sizes smaller. WHAT THE HELL!!

I didn't get to wear it to work but I managed to go back there and change it. PHEW~ I thought it would be difficult but it was simple.

I went to JB yesterday with my mum and Yami's parents. We went there for grocery shopping and also to but AliCafe! I think I've told you guys this but for those who forgot, it's Tongkat Ali Coffee...It's been so long since I last had it so I'm like 'desperate' for it. Am I like old just because I drink this kind of coffee>>>???

Anyways, I also bought Bollywood VCDs...hehe..I like bollywood movies..
'Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham' and 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna'. Both movies star Shah Rukh Khan. Not that I'm a huge fan of him but it's just that movies with him in it are always good. One's about loving your parents and another is about married couples who aren't happy with each other and then in the end switch partners..HAHA..sounds complicated? Watch it then!

I don't know if many of you guys know this but in Malaysia, unoriginal DVDs are everywhere! There's like 4 or 5 shops selling the DVDs...each costing at RM5...cheap huh? But, it's like wrong..right?? I shan't go any further or I'm gonna get sued or something.

I received a call from poly today. There's gonna be orientation from 9th to 12th April! And it's from 9am to 5pm. Should I go? If I'm to go for this, then I can't work! I need money!!! And I think I'm gonna configure my notebook this Friday which is also the last day for configuring. I need to save all my songs and pictures into somewhere. I need help cause I'm a huge computer dummy.

Poly will start in 16th April which is like next week. How quick time flies. Well, since I'm gonna be doing a course that I like, I guess I'll enjoy it..

LOOK!!! I made 4 sales for the past week! I sold 3 $298 package and 1 $198 package! I'm so proud of myself!


They celebrated Hafizd's birthday in the office yesterday. The cake was delicious.


I was walking along Orchard Road on my way to return the wrong pair of pants when I looked up and saw a giant poster of Spider-Man 3! And look at it's opening date! It's MAY 1st!!! YAY!!!


I was outside Shaw House and I saw what used to be the Royal Plaza on Scotts is now Royal Plaza on nothing. They're demolishing it so I just had to take a picture of it.


This is cool. It's very artistic. It's taken all the way from JB. Try to guess what it is. Clue: You're nuts if you don't know what it is. HAHA

I guess I'll blog again soon.

Hopefully I won't be too lazy.
