3 more days to Raya!

Hey there...
I'm back with another post. Gonna make this a quick one.

I've been sick this entire week. So sick that I had to skip work last Wednesday and was not able to fast for 2 days! Sigh...

I received my pay yesterday I think and I treated myself by getting a haircut, buying a gift for my mum and went on a High School Musical shopping frenzy! Check out what I bought:

"M" by Mariah Carey perfume for Mommy!

Magazines for myself!

I got the perfume at the perfume shop at Far East where they sell original perfumes for half the original price. The retail price for the one I bought is $116. I got it for $53!! Talk about a good deal!

As for the magazines, I was at the magazines section at Kino Takashimaya. When I saw the First magazine, I just grabbed it. And as you can see, I grabbed more magazines including the Camp Rock Official Magazine! Honestly, I have yet to see the film but I think it rocks! I've listened to the songs and they're nice. From now on, I guess I will have 2 magazines to buy each month...Hannah Montana and Camp Rock...$$$

Raya is in a few days and I'm anticipating its arrival. I'm suddenly geared up for Raya that I'm making sure the house I'm staying at now will be all glammed up! I'm not trying to show off to anyone except for those sickening relatives of mine who have kinda like despised us. I am planning to stay at home on the first day and wait for them to come. I want this year's Raya to be memorable and for good things to happen.

Yesterday, while I was having my break at work, I braved myself and called my brother. I called him during last year's Raya and asked him to visit us but he never did. When I spoke to him, I was tearing. I told him that we are now putting up at grandma's place and asked if he would visit us. He said he will come on the morning of the first day of Raya along with his wife and kids. I'm excited and hopes that this time, he keeps his words.

Big Boys DO Cry
I was listening to radio while at work last Thursday. The DJ had a segment where she would try to call people who are missed by their family members and tries reuniting them over the airwaves. I couldn't help but cry when I was listening to a pair of mother and daughter who have been separated for years because of a misunderstanding. I was facing the window the whole time I was crying as I was with another male colleague and it'll be embarassing to cry in front of him. Actually, I wasn't the only there who wept. He was sobbing too. Amazing how the story of real individuals can make you shed tears.

That's all for tonight.
I'll be back soon to bring you the latest scoops of the everday happennings.
see ya!

Take Five!

It's been more than a week since my last update. There are a couple of things that I need to update about.

1) My mum in hospital
2) My new job
3) My disappointment
4) Work//Fast
5) My dream last night

Ok, my memory is terrible. So I can only remember these 5 things.
Let's go backwards beginning from number 5.

5) As many of you already know, I am a really HUGE fan of Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana. I also like other Disney related people like High School Musical and The Jonas Brothers but not as much as I like Miley and Hannah. So I thought that since I'm a big Hannah fan, I would probably dream about her. But I was wrong. I dreamt that we(me and my SP clique) were at some place(probably SP) and we were doing filming for our next project.

Suddenly, we heard the sound of crowds cheering and going ga-ga over other people. Who could it be? It was the Jonas Brothers. Yeap, all three of them, Nick, Kevin and Joe. I remembered seeing Joe Jonas waving at us and said:

"Thank You"

What did he mean by that? Was it a sincere remark or was he just being sarcastic? The band was heading towards some big space for an autograph session apparently. Probably it was at some location in SP. Jovis and Me got excited to meet the band that we paused filming for a while and rushed to meet them.

When we got there, I remember seeing the fans and most of them were American. I can even remember what I was thinking about when I saw those people:

"Pfft~How come those ang-mohs are here to see them? Don't they get enough of seeing them in America?"

We wanted to get autographs but we did not have any Jonas Brothers related stuff(CDs, Magazines, etc). So we waited till the queue gets shorter and shorter. When there was practically nobody there and the band was just sitting there, looking bored as their time to sit there was not up yet and waiting for more fans, we approached the band. I didn't know why but at that time, Jovis kept my phone in her bag so I had to ask her for it as I wanted to take a photo of the brothers.

I said 'hi' to Nick first and asked if he would sign on my foolscap paper. I can't believe it but it was the exact same foolscap that I have right now(The one which I scribbled on the cover...you know..Rockstar, Best of Both Worlds etc etc etc..). While he was signing, I asked him about his relationship with Selena Gomez.

"So are you with Selena?" I asked.

"Many people have asked me this. Even my mum. She thinks that Selena is better for me." Nick replied.

"I am a huge fan of Miley and I think that Miley is better for you" I said.

I sounded like a reporter. And then I went over to Kevin and told him about Jovis' blogpost about him.

"Hey Kevin! My friend here is such a huge fan of you! She even wrote a blogpost about you!" I said.

I don't remember him replying though. And after a long chat, I heard the song "Life's What You Make It" playing in the background. It turned out to be my alarm tone. 7.10am...Time for work!!

But the dream felt so real that I'm beginning to wonder if I'm really going to see them in person.

4) I was supposed to work full shift today and so I thought I could last the day. But NO!!!! I could barely survive the morning. Stocks came in very early today and there were like what 30+ boxes? At the same time, there were a lot of customers as usual..and the cash register is running out of small notes and 5 cents. It really bugs me.

On top of that, I felt very, very thirsty. Seeing the cartons of POKKA drinks that came in was making it worst. Oh, you guys know about this new Collagen Water that's available? Try it! It's good for the skin. It costs at $1.40 each at Guardian and it comes in peach flavour. I think it's good because there was a customer that bought 10bottles of it! So whatcha waiting for? GO GET IT TODAY! Ok..so I guess I'm still in my work mode.

I thank Darren for his willingness to work my shift today. He saw me half dead this morning and I guess that made him want to work on my behalf. Thanks!

3) The release for the karaoke CDs for Hannah Montana 2, Jonas Brothers and Camp Rock were scheduled to release last Tuesday in America.

So I thought that it would be released simultaneously here as well. I went to HMV last Wednesday after work to go check it out. I was so disappointed as they did not have it. I felt so glum throughout the whole time until we went to Takashimaya and saw the Hannah Montana stuff that were on sale. I was so bedazzled by the amount of merchandise that they were selling. There were pencil cases, bags, pens, notebooks, files, and other stuff! Since I was broke, I didn't buy anything. I am waiting for payday so that I can go back there and buy those things!

2) So I got a new job..how was it you ask? It's awesome! I can never ask for more!
Firstly, the location is at Jurong East which is just 15 minutes away from my place. Secondly, the hours are so flexible that I still have time to work at Guardian in the evening.
Finally, my dream to work in a nice office has finally became true.
I don't know if I've told you guys this but I was supposed to get a job at the Community Centre a week ago. I didn't get it so the agency sent my resume to Southwest CDC and just like that, I got a call from the agency last Monday and they asked me to start work on the next day.

I came in formal wear on the first day of work. While waiting to be briefed, I was quite nervous because I wasn't sure what we were supposed to do. All I know was that it has to do with some barcoding system going on. I'm not that pro with MS Excel but I do know the basics of it and so I was afraid they would need me to use MS Excel a lot that I would just freak out and drop dead on the floor while working.

Want to know what my job is? There are hundreds and thousands of files and all I have to do is label them with stickers. And each day, we would do it by divisions. There are a total of 16 divisions and so far I have done 3 divisions along with my colleague. Me and my colleague have to share our desk and the view from our seat is great. The aircon was cooling. It was almost perfect EXCEPT there's no computer for us. But there are computers over at the end of the room that's for part-timers.

These are just some of the files that we filed.

A few days ago, we were taught a few things like how to search for files in the system. I love this job and I love the environment even more! My aim is to make friends with the adults there as they seem pretty boring. They don't play music! Not like Buffet Club. I'm going to bring the fun in them!!

5) My mum had been complaining that her waist was aching. I went with her to the doctors last Friday and it got worst. I had to bring her to the hospital on Sunday as she was vomitting the whole night. While waiting at the hospital, I learnt my lesson. You should never be alone while waiting for some blood test results of whoever's in the emergency room. Because it's very boring. I waited for like 3 hours and I was so damn sleepy. My phone died and that was it. I lost my only form of entertainment.

Alright. That's enough for now.
Gotta go.
See you!

it's all about the money $$$

Hey everybody, it's Wally.
Half of what I did today has already been written on Jovis' blogpost. So, go there to read that part of the day's events. The other part was, I went to Orchard to meet up with Aqmar to break fast. He wanted to get the TeenVogue magazine so I accompanied him there. We had KFC and boy was I starved. I had zinger and it just wasn't enough. Sigh. Today's outing was normal. I had nothing to buy so yeah.

Anyways, as usual, I have been working the last couple of days. I worked with Jovis on Monday. Yup, she and Aileen have joined Guardian! YEAY! I have to say that Jovis did pretty well even on the first day of work. KUDOS! I will not be working for tomorrow and Friday so I'm going to use this opportunity to catch-up on daytime cooking shows and dramas. Also, I will probably be cooking for the family! Three cheers for Wally Blueberry! HAHAX!

I guess I have nothing much to say tonight. I shall leave you with this quote:

"you know you're broke when you have nothing to withdraw from your ATM"

-the quote was inspired by Jovis.

Put your hands together everybody!

hey ya'll!
i'm back for another quick update.

I'm so glad that I'm finally at home today to break fast. It's like the 1st in 5 days that I'm broke my fast at home. I felt very sad on the first day I broke fast as I was at work and was stucked with this new part-timer who has already quit the job. I couldn't even go out to get myself a meal and so I had Kinder Bueno...ONLY! My mood was dampened throughout the night but I pretended like everything was fine. I was pretty tired as I had school in the morning.

Let's skip the unnecessary parts. So the 'eating-very-little-at-work' syndrome went on for another day. On the 2nd day of fasting, I had bread. You know those bread with different spreads. Yup, those kinds. I had them all to myself. Well, I did offer it to the girl I was working with but she wasn't fasting due to a 'certain' reason.

Anyways, I had a ball of a time last Wednesday and Thursday because for the first time in my 18 years of life, I got to be a radio DJ! LOL..a fake one of course. I was selected by the *ever so lovely, Ms Kwa*(this is for you if you're reading this..LOL) to be the emcee for my school's SP Experience programme. Basically, what we had to do was promote our course to secondary school students. I was co-hosting with a girl who recently appeared on that Mocha ad(*the one who wanted the double eyelid). Her name is Cheryl by the way. For 2 consecutive days, our jobs were to get them interested and listening and at the same time sell our school. Not literally of course.

I went for an audition today but boy was it scary. After learning about law, I'm now more afraid to sign contracts. I used to think that I can breach contracts at any time like for example a contract of employment. I saw an ad about a company looking for singers. I called them up and went for the interview. Honestly, I didn't like the place as I felt it was a little scary with all the getai costumes and stuff. But I'm still confused because the person was like serious about making me a star but she kept emphasizing that there's no free lunch in this world and that I must do something for her in return or something. But the pay is really attractive. One can easily earn from $80 to $1000 a night for a show! Like how cool is that?? Oh, since I didn't have my minus one cd with me, I wasn't auditioned. She had wanted me to come back this Sunday with the cd and now I'm in a dilemma. SIGHS..

Moving on to a totally different issue..
I have been listening to a lot of ghost stories at night that sometimes I feel that I'm scaring myself. Weird things began happening as well. Like, my grandmother was suddenly having a nightmare after so long. And I keep feeling like something will just pop out from the kitchen. I guess my imagination are just running too wild.

Sigh..
I suddenly feel sleepy.
Gotta go now.

don't tell me you're sorry 'cause you're not

***I would like to apologize to my dear readers who are anticipating the results for the "price is right" thingy I'm having. I know that I promised to announce it yesterday, but due to unforseen circumstances, I will not be able to reveal it so soon. I have been too busy with school and work that I do not have time to look through the answers. What I can say now is that results will most likely be available by THURSDAY, 4th September.

My apologies,
Syawal.
