my clumsy-ness got the best of me

Hey Ya'll!!!
Sorry, sorry for not updating me blog!
Did you all miss me??
HAHAH.. I know I did. =P
Ok ok..enough intro.

In case you didn't know already,
I HAVE A JOB NOW!!!
Yup!!! From Guardian which is like what..the Pharmaceutical industry?
I jumped over walls and land myself in the Food and Beverage industry!!
I'm working at Pizza Hut Jurong Point now. Sounds familiar? Cuz it's the same place where Aqmar works at.

As a newbie, I had to attend 4 days of training from Tuesday to Friday.

On the 1st day of training, I WAS LATE! It wasn't my fault. I had a test from 5.15 to 6.45. The training was supposed to start at 5pm. But I already informed the manager so she already knew. As I was very, very nervous, and I kept saying how I'm going to melt on the floors of Pizza Hut, Aqmar dropped me off at the restaurant so that I wouldn't be so blur and stuff. The supervisor there is Ina. I've met her before. She gave me my uniform and asked me to look through the menu. She then went through the menu with me. Like all the ingredients and stuff.
Wow..I learned a few trade secrets along the way...hehehe I guess that was all I did that day because the 'lecture' took quite a while. Before I know it, it was time to go home.

On the 2nd day, I got to experience hands on with real customers. I did CSR which is the hosting thing. I keep stumbling on words and I couldn't open the menu properly and stuff. So yeah... I also learnt the table numbers. Wow...it's not as complex as I thought it was. And then...I learnt how to take orders and keying them into the system. There's a lot of things that I need to remember when taking orders. Like what to inform customers and stuff. There's always a few must have things that you need to tell the customers which I always tend to forget. Keying the orders into the system is quite scary for me. I'm very slow at it. I will like confuse myself and I just feel like crying out loud!! But then, I managed to take correct orders so yeah!

On the 3rd day, I served food and drinks. I enjoyed it. I felt that for me to learn the menu is through serving the food. It was scary at some point when that "food window" is overloaded with food! And for me, I can only carry like 1 - 3 dishes at a time so I was like very panicky!

On the 4th day, it was my final day of training! I was thought how to do busser (Pronounced as buzzer). Basically, it's the collecting of empty plates and setting of table. People might find this a dirty job but I ENJOYED IT! It's less stressful than taking orders! I was then told to do everything that I have learned so far like taking orders, serving the food and drinks etc. And then...I "GRADUATED"!!!

The following day which is a Saturday, my mum accompanied me to the clinic at Jurong Point to get myself the typhoid injection. You know the only reason why I never tried working F & B before is because of this one injection???!!! I was freaked out but I tried to overcome my fear. I dared not look at the needle as I thought I would faint. Before I know it, the doctor said it was done. I was so shocked! I probably felt a slight pinch but that was just it! I pondered at the number of years I wasted fearing about this silly injection.

Yesterday was the 1st day of Chinese New Year. It was also my first official day at work!!! The people there are really nice. The manager told me I was going to do busser-ing that day. I was very happy. I tried to do everything right. I made sure I worked fast though the rest of them told me to slow down. I felt that if I were to slow down, I was going to lose the momentum. I had clumsy moments yesterday. Here's some:
- I dropped the cutleries a few times
- I spilled the glasses of water onto the table while I was collecting the plates
- I got water splashed on my shirt
- I dropped a lasagne while making my way to the bar counter
- I sent the wrong bill to the wrong customer

...hmm...what else???
- I dropped the empty pizza boxes while trying to take it from the top.

Just when I thought the day would get worst, a customer actually complimented on my service. She asked if I was a student from Shatec. I said no, I'm a student from SP. I asked her why she asked and she said the way I do things is as if I've been taught by this teacher who's very good there. I was flattered. I kept thanking her and before I know it, she spoke to my manager, Erwin who then gave me 10 bucks from the customer. I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN HAPPIER!!!

Considering that it was only my first day at work and I got such compliments, it really brightened the rest of the night! I know that I probably shouldn't be too happy but then again, I'm happy with myself!!!

When I do my work, the songs that kept playing in my head are obviously Hannah songs. These are the specific lines that kept me going:
- "Nobody's perfect! I've got to work it! Again and again till I get it right!"
- "Don't let anyone tell you that you're not strong enough"
There's a lot more that I need to learn. I just have to keep doing things right and mistakes are never allowed!! YEAH!!! Ok..that was very lengthy. Feast your eye on this:

Hannah Montana: The Movie poster is out!!!
she look pretty???
The trailer is out too! Check it out here!!

they bring me down cuz of jealousy but I'm not, not, not like that

Hey Ya'll!

I'm SO HAPPY!
Finally I got to watch the Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best Of Both Worlds Concert in 3D in cinemas!

I watched it yesterday over at Golden Village VivoCity. It was awesome! Except that the glasses weren't as hi-tech as the ones at Lido. Nonetheless, the effects were surreal! Even my mum got excited! I loved watching it with my mum. Here's why:

-She kept commenting that Miley is pretty. I TOTALLY AGREE!
-She liked her clothes!
-She said Miley looked like a doll!
-She thought Miley was funny!
-She likes Billy Ray!
-She thought Joe Jonas was good looking!
-She got a little 'angry' at Miley because she threw a drumstick at us. I am not talking about chicken drumsticks but those you use for playing drums. See...the effects were so real!
-She likes Hannah and Miley songs particularly: Life's What You Make It, I Got Nerve, See You Again! And she also liked Year 3000 by the Jonas Brothers!

And today, she just confessed that she was really excited to watch the movie! She said all these while she pretended not to like Hannah but actually she loves her songs! And I thought that I would never hear my mum say those words! I should just celebrate!!!

But I guess the response wasn't good. There were so little people in the theatre. Like less than 10? Although there were kids, they didn't make noise which was good! They didn't even sing along. And I heard a kid got so excited when Miley said she was going to sing Best Of Both Worlds. She gave that "finally excitement". I don't know how to put it into words. But I guess that was probably the only song she knows. As for me, I knew everything! EVERY SINGLE WORD! If there's a Don't Forget The Lyrics: Hannah Montana edition, I'm sure gonna win it! HAHAHAH...Talk about being overconfident.

Now that my mum likes Hannah too, guess I've got the Best Of Both Worlds myself! It took me so long to convince her man...YEAY!!!

Moving on...
I've been busy the last few days and I haven't been sleeping well that I even fell sick. I was emceeing for my school's open house for 3 days! I loved it though the response was just somehow there. We were targeting the guests but instead, we gave away prizes to our own students. But anyways, I had so much fun! Though the first day, I was very panicky. I didn't know what to say and kept stumbling on words. The second day was the best I guess. And the performers were great! I'd like to thank the lecturer in charge - Dioni! He is the best lecturer after Ms Kwa and everybody else man! He's just so cool!!! Like you never thought such a lecturer would ever exist! YEAY FOR DIONI!!!

Sigh..I guess I didn't get the Pizza Hut job because the manager didn't call me. She said she'd call me before Monday if I get it. I guess I'm gonna try Build-A-Bear! It seems interesting =)

Chinese New Year is around the corner.
To get myself in the mood, I got myself Love Letters! I got the cravings for it after watching the show Reunion Dinner which is showing currently on Channel 8, 9pm, Mondays to Fridays.

Thanks Lee Yan for getting us to anticipate for the show! I really love their acting especially Chen Liping's. Her acting is so good! I guess I'm a fan! Been liking her acting since Holland V! Patricia Mok acted really good as usual! She deserves Best Actress award! And how can I not say this but Kym Ng is SOOOOOOO FUNNY!!! I don't really watch Chinese dramas that often but this one got me hooked! KUDOS TO CHANNEL 8 FOR PRODUCING ANOTHER FANTASTIC DRAMA!

Ok then..Gotta go now.

See ya again soon!

Yesterday...all my troubles seemed so far away...

It's less than 20 days to the Hannah Montana 3D concert in theatres! Also, if you remember from my previous post, I mentioned about the Jonas Brothers 3D concert right? I just found out that it will be released in local cinemas on 9th April 2009! That's like 3 more months! I can't wait!

Moving on...
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!
I wanted to blog on new year's eve but I was too lazy and so now's the only time I can blog.

On the first day of school(29th December 2008), I decided to go to Esplanade to look for the Hannah Montana poster that my senior and Yami have been telling me about. I saw the poster from that movie shop and I've already have the picture. So I didn't buy it though the price was reasonable.

Oh, and I didn't sleep the entire night because I was rushing my TVSM assignment. Staying up all night made me realize that I can work better when I don't sleep. Also, I had 3 cups of coffee. So, I was practically awake. But of course, I was cranky the next morning. I couldn't walk straight. I kept talking nonsense.
Floating balls at the Singapore river. I thought they looked disgusting. They're like giant fishballs!

On new year's eve, I had school for less than 2 hours. Before we left school, we took some final pictures:

School's out! Scream and shout!

I then went to Orchard - my favourite place to shop and hangout. I went there alone though. As Toys'R'Us was having a special sale for members, I couldn't resist the urge to buy the sets of High School Musical 3 dolls that I've been eyeing for so long. So I bought them for less than $10 the original price each.

Oh, I decided to wrap the dolls just for the fun of it. I treat it like a new year gift to myself. The one next to it is the Hannah Montana perfume which I bought for 18 bucks. It smells really nice! And just look at good they are with photoshop below.

Flip!

Sharpay and Zeke

Troy and Gabriella

Ryan and Kelsi

They're so gorgeous! If you've watched the movie, you'll remember that the outfits were taken from the A Night To Remember dance number.

I was counting the number of dolls I have so far and I realized I have collected a total of 31 dolls over a period of 6 years! That's an average of 5 dolls per year!

I had wanted to buy my mum the Paris Hilton bag that she'd been wanting. I decided to call my mum to meet me in Orchard after work. She came but she didn't want the bag anymore. Pfft~ I thought if I buy her the bag, she wouldn't scold me for buying the dolls. But to my surprise, even when she didn't get the bag, she didn't scold me at all! I was really surprised~!!

Random picture of the day:

I found this care bear being tied up to this thing. So cute!

I am glad that I have left 2008 with a good note. I guess...
A lot of bittersweet memories. More bitter than sweet I guess...
Friendships made and lost...
I lost my job but my mum got a job...

I hope that 2009 will be so much better than before...
I won't let anyone or anything to ever bring me down...
I will make sure that I do my best in everything...
And I hope to get that "Big Break"

Everything is possible!

Till next time!

BYE BYE!
