MY SWEET ESCAPE!
Sorry to keep everyone waiting...
The day that I've waited for so long was finally here at last!
I'm gonna give you every single detail about my whole of today, August 14th 2007.
I woke up at 1.30pm coz I slept at 7am..
Couldn't sleep as I was thinking about what to buy from the concert.
In case you didn't know, I'm talking about the Gwen Stefani concert.
I told myself that whatever happens, I have to get the Tour Program coz I need really good pictures.
Well..then I went on thinking about the t-shirts, the necklace, everything!
Moving on..
I left home quite early..4.30pm..
The concert starts at 8pm though.
I wanted to make sure that the souvenirs don't sell out so quickly so that I can at least buy something back.
I took the bus 11 from Kallang interchange. The waiting time almost killed me.
I arrived at the stadium around 5.45...I think.
So I bought myself a cup of slurpee from the nearest 7 - 11 although I wasn't really thirsty. I just had to keep myself busy coz I was there like very early..ok..early.
I then saw a banner
"OFFICIAL TOUR MERCHANDISE"
I was kinda excited..
But all I saw was T-Shirts...
the people there(the staff) was like chit chatting so I didn't dare approach them. I waited till I finally saw someone buying stuff.
I went up to them..
"Is that all? No tour program?"
Nope.(the person replied)
Dang!
So I got myself a t-shirt at $35. I can't complain coz it's afterall not available in stores. He asked whether I wanted a poster to go with it.
I said No.
I walked away. Oh yea, one more thing, they didn't have any carrier bags.
I expected it so I brought a bag.
I walked around the place..taking pictures of the stadium.
I then came back down to where the merchandise booth were.
I sat down not too far away and looked at the people buying the stuff.
I figured that I should get another t-shirt...and the poster.
After much thought, I braved myself to get up again, and went to the same person who assisted me the previous time.
"Hi..I'm gonna get another shirt"
Oh sure..(he said)
So..in total I bought 2 shirts and 2 posters(1 for syafiqah who wanted me to get it for her first)
I spent $100 in total. (35+35+15+15=100)
After that, I went upstairs to the East Entrance to queue up to go in.
I got in at 7.30 when the doors finally opened.
I had to open my bag coz they had to check every single person.
Then I was finally inside the stadium.
There were ushers but I was being a smart alec.
I told the person
"Yea..my seat is this row..."
I sat down.
I was quite happy that the view isn't that bad. It was quite near the stage.
I talked to this little kid who told me that Gwen arrived at 3pm today. WOW
So..I sat for a while.
Until I saw the A14 sign in front of me.
You see..I remembered mine is T12. So I was surprised why it is not aligned with 12..why are the columns in front like 14..
Then I asked the usher to check my ticket.
Guess what?
I WAS AT THE WRONG SEAT!
That was really embarrassing.
I sat there happily for like 5 minutes.
But thank goodness the real owners of the seats weren't there yet or else it would've been double embarrassing.
So I had to move further away. Same row but different columns.
I sat down...took pictures of here and there.
I saw a gay couple. hehehe
I can say the concert was delayed.
It's supposed to start at 8 but it started around 8.30.
It's SHOWTIME!
The lights dimmed to darkness.
The Harajuku Girls aka the dancers came out from the audience.
The audience screamed. I screamed too.
I don't know why..
It wasn't even Gwen..
It was just her dancers.
Oh yea..
So they were running around..looking lost.
They eventually ended up on the stage.
Gwen came out.
EVERYBODY STOOD UP!
The opening song was...
THE SWEET ESCAPE!
Nope...there was no AKON..
but everybody in the audience sang AKON's WOOHOO YEEHOO part.
I recorded a short clip of Gwen singing. it's not that clear but it's something.
The lights were awesome..
The dance was cute too
And Gwen was GORGEOUS!
The next song she did immediately after the previous was RICH GIRL.
then it was a track called YUMMY..i think..
then it was 4 IN THE MORNING...great!
...LUXURIOUS...
...it's either WAITING YOU..or WINTER...but I remembered she dedicated it to everyone in the audience!
Then she asked the audience...
"WHERE ARE MY SINGAPORE GIRLS?"
Some guys raised up their hands...
I didn't..obviously.
It was the intro for...
HOLLABACK GIRL...
When it came to the part where "CUZ I AIN'T NO HOLLABACK GIRL, I AIN'T NO HOLLABACK GIRL", she pointed the microphone at the audience...
WE SANG..Ok..so this time I didn't care about my gender.
I sang it loud and proudly..HAHHAHAH
Just for u to know, she didn't say the "SHIT" words in the song..
She ended up saying ...This "SHHH...." is bananas..B-A-NA-ANAS
The intro for her next song was cute too..
The video at the back was showing a picture of the sky and a hill.
You've guessed it..
It was WIND IT UP!
the audience sand the WIND IT UP part...
"WIND IT UP..WIND IT UP.."
YEAH!
After that, I couldn't remember what songs she sang but then came the best part of the show.
Oh yea...I think a few songs after WIND IT UP, my phone died. DAMMIT...
Oh yea..the best part of the show..
GWEN GOT OFF THE STAGE...
RAN TO THE AV PEOPLE AT THE CENTRE OF THE FLOOR..
SHE GOT ONTO THE PLATFORM
SHE WAS CLOSER TO WHERE I WAS NOW.
BUT SADLY I COULDNT TAKE THE PICTURE...=(((((
SHE THEN SAID "I WANT YOU GUYS TO SING THE NEXT SONG WITH ME.."
"HERE'S COOL!"
MY FAVORITE SONG!
SHE THEN GOT OFF THE PLATFORM,
RAN TO THE CENTRE PEOPLE..
AS IN THOSE AT THE NORTH SECTIONS...
NEARER TO EXIT, FURTHER FROM THE STAGE..
SHE WAS WALKING AND WAS TAKING PICTURES WITH THEM...
I WAS LIKE..
I WANT HER TO COME UP TO WHERE I WAS..
BUT AT THE SAME TIME, I WILL FEEL LIKE CRAP COZ MY PHONE DIED!
SO SHE GOT OFF FROM THAT ROW..
AND...
RAN UP THE STAIRS WHERE I WAS ...
AS IN..SHE RAN UP THE T12 STAIRS...
ITS OKAY IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND IT HERE..
JUST ASK ME WHEN YOU SEE ME..
ANYWAYS...SHE RAN UP THE STAIRS...
I WAS SEAT 1 SO I WAS RIGHT AT THE END.
SHE RAN UP AND STOOD IN BETWEEN A12 AND T12...
SHE STOOD THERE TILL HER SONG ENDED..THAT WAS HOW LONG SHE STOOD THERE
SHE WAS PROBABLY 2 ARM'S LENGTH AWAY FROM ME!
I GOT TO SEE HER FACE REALLY CLOSE...
I WAS STARSTRUCKED!
SHE DOES LOOK REALLY PRETTY IN PERSON
NO DOUBT ABOUT IT...HEHEHE
THANKFULLY, THE PERSON NEXT TO ME TOOK THE PICTURE OF HER WHEN SHE WAS THERE..
SO I IMMEDIATELY MADE FRIENDS WITH HER..
BAD I STILL FEEL SHITTY THAT MY PHONE HAD TO DIE AT SUCH A TIME...
OK..
So she went back on stage...and introduced her dancers and her musicians..
Her Harajuku Girls are named Love, Angel, Music and Baby.
And not all of them are from Harajuku.
There's like one from OSAKA and another one from LA.
HAHA...But whatever it is, they're really lucky.
Coz Gwen takes them wherever she goes...
Even in the music videos..
And also, if you did watch SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE season 2, you might know the winner was Benji rite? Apparently, he's the male dancer for Gwen. COOL eh?
Coz each time Gwen introduced them one by one, they will then do a breakdance or just crumping...
Then after she has introduced all of them, they all looked at her..they wanted her to do something too..
She was a bit reluctant at first..HAHA...(it's all part of the show..)
She was like "what? what?..."
And the audience were like WOAH...GO GWEN!
ok..they probably didn't say GO GWEN..I made that up..or did I?
She did a somersault. Yup..
She's a wife and mother but still has a hot body.
After that, she went in and came out for the next song.
It was dedicated to her son, Kingston.
I can't remember what it's called but it's quite nice...
It's kinda sad thinking about her having to separate from her husband and baby for so long. Coz she has been touring for quite some time now..so it must've been a while since she last saw them I guess..
But I have to salute her..She's a hardworking mummy!
Ok..so after that song,
Her Harajuku girls came out again in that blonde hair you see in the WIND IT UP video.
They opened up Gwen's coat and underneath, she was wearing something like the ALICE IN WONDERLAND outfit she wore in the What you waiting for video..
SO...
She started singing the piano part of what you waiting for...
Then it was...
TICK TOCK TICK TOCK TICK TOCK TICK TOCK
really nice...
WHAT YOU WAITING FOR? was the closing song.
I was quite happy...and I didn't regret going there. It was a blast!
The only thing I hated was when I couldn't get the best pictures.
But nonetheless, it's quite see-able.
I then saw a less famous Singapore celeb...Melody Chen..She was in the same column as me..I didn't say Hi..
she was with her friends..
she looked pretty too..
=)
So it was predictable..
Coming out was also difficult coz there was like so many people rushing...
I had to take bus 16 to CITY HALL MRT Station..
I had to squeeze my way into the bus coz everyone in the bus were the concert goers...
But at least I made it home in time..around 11.40?...

Basically..
After the previous post,
I attended the Gone Shopping movie premiere..
Ok..it's old news..but it was cool...
Quite good for a local movie.
No kidding..
Oh yea..
The episode of CODE RED aired on 31st July 2007...
WE WON! hehehe
erm..I had a few presentations..
4 in a week...3 days in a row...
So that's almost it...
Oh before I forgot,
I attended my sec 2 malay teacher's wedding on 12th August.
=)
That's it..
I have to go study for my exam which is on Thursday...
