Yo Yo!
WASSUP YA'LL??
HAHAH
Let me try to recount whatever happened since the time I last blogged.
I had projects to rush.
One after another.
And I'm glad I managed to get it done.
HOORAY!
And so I went to collect my contact lenses on Wed after I came back from the advertising agency.
I was quite happy to finally get a chance to wear it.
But what the heck.
I took more than 30 mins to try to wear it.
In the end, I was already late for Econs tutorial on Thursday.
So I didn't attend it.
As I was quite angry because I lost the left side of the lenses.
But then when I went back to check on the sink, the lens was there.
What the hell..
I did go to school that day but just to do my storyboard for DVPA.
I had to sleep quite late that night as I was trying really hard to finish the storyboard for the presentation on Friday.
I slept around 3am.
And so I woke up late...
the weird thing is that..
I didn't hear the alarm ringing!
But it was ringing really loudly..
How could I not hear it??
But then again..I arrived school on time.
The presentation went quite well.
I think so..
I went home after the presentation as I had to go to work at 2pm.
It was also my first day so I tried not to be late.
Let me share with you whatever happened at work...
When I arrived at the place, I had to buy myself a pair of black shoes first as it's part of the uniform.
When I came, Jay's sis was like in the 'office' eating.
She was the one who taught me most of the things there like cashier-ing.
It's FUN!
Although it was quite scary the first time but it rocks after a while!
I then learnt a lot of other things like the terms used for the things there.
So first day was quite alright.
The second day starts to rock a little.
To start off, I was late for work!
Work starts at 8am and I woke up at 7.33am!
Like what the hell right?
Well..I was tired ok.
I didn't get enough sleep the nights before.
So when I came at 8.35, I quickly apologized to Aunty Margaret who's like the supervisor of the shop.
She didn't scold me or anything as I hurriedly helped with bringing out of the things.
The thing about neighbourhood Guardian stores is that the some of their products are outside and we have to bring it in every night and bring it out the next morning.
When everything's alright, I went to do front facing.
Yup.
It means to just walk around..
check on stuff..
and help customers..
that kind of thing.
And from the second day onwards, I learnt quite a few stuff about people.
Like..
People are quite shy to buy condoms.
There was this man who bought 2 packs of it and passed it to me at the side and not at the counter.
It looked like he was trying to give me drugs or something.
Then there was this other guy who came to the counter and asked if we sell urine test...
I was like.."what the hell is a urine test?"
It was either his english was bad or my hearing is failing...
What he meant was the pregnancy test kit.
So I showed him to the area where they have the condoms and pregnancy stuff.
How ironic huh?
Pregnancy test kits & condoms all arranged in 1 area...
And as a Guardian salesperson, we are supposed to promote Guardian branded products like the pregnancy test kit for example.
But because Jays told me the day before that it doesn't really work, I told him the same thing.
And so I made him buy Clearblue test kit which is like more expensive.
But I persuaded and voila!
He bought it!
Oh yeah..
I didn't know that even in retail shops, they have targets as well..
Like for the previous week, we had to 'plus sell' Guardian hand soaps worth $2.95 for 2 bottles..
Initial price was $3.50 for 2 bottles.
But we tell customers that 1 bottle is for $2.50 and that it is more worth it when they buy a set.
Cool huh?
Lets move on to today...
I start at 3pm today...
By 8pm, we managed to sell ALL OF THE HAND SOAPS!
WOOHOO!!
It works even better because we tell customers that it ends today and that the price will go up tomorrow which is true.
And by today, I feel useful because I know the place better.
Ask me where the panadols are, and I'll take you there.
Probably that's the only place I know in the shop really well..
HAHAH
And we even made friends with the spectacles shop people.
They kept coming to our store and buy things from us.
And we would chat with them.
Quite fun actually.
And the people at Guardian are also very nice.
HAHAH..
It's an ALL FEMALE ENVIRONMENT
I'm the only thorn among the roses.
Oh yar..I lost my left side of the contact lens again today..
And so I went back to that specs shop to collect the left side I ordered from them the other time when I lost it.
And they still kept it.
Before I lost the left side,
It took me less than 30 secs to put on the right side.
It gets easier as my right eye is starting to get used to it.
But my left eye is just not cooperative yet.
Oh well..since there's no school and no work tomorrow, I'll be wearing the lenses only on Tuesday to school.
HOORAY!
Ok Ok..Im getting tired of writing..
And I believe you guys are tired of reading it as well...
Here are some pics to probably 'brighten' your day..
(or darken it..)
My contact lenses...
