"I said HI to Hady Mirza and he said HI back!"

My dream~!!!
Hey there!
Guess this is a post that you guys should read if you want to know all the scoops on my Singapore Idol auditions.
Warning: Might be a little too detailed. Read with patient.
Alright..
On Friday, 5th June 2009, I met my colleague, Wan at Lakeside MRT at 10.30pm.
I only found out he was auditioning too like the night before after I was on the way home from watching Hannah Montana: The Movie at Jurong Point and bumping into my PH colleagues.
I shall blog about the movie on another day.
We talked in the train about what we were going to sing and how nervous we were.
Oh, I brought like a lot of things with me.
I had:
-Panadol
-Axe Oil
-Carbon pills
-Redbull
-Jagabee chips
-2 bottles of Ice Mountain water
-Magazines to keep my awake
-My whole pencil box
-Old newspapers for me to sit/sleep on
OK.
We took the train to Dhoby Ghaut MRT.
We walked to THE CATHAY.
When I reached the place, I saw the HUGE SINGAPORE IDOL SIGN!
I went GAGA!
And then I saw the queue.
Ok lah...it wasn't THAT long yet.
But there are already 200 plus people.
After we got into the queue, I settled and said Hi to the person next to me.
I asked them:
Me: What time did you guys came?
***Halfway while asking that, I kinda like thought it was silly of me asking it.
Them: We just came.
LIKE DUH RIGHT??
They couldn't have been there that long.
Oh, forgot to mention.
We arrived at around 11pm on Friday night, 5th June 2009.
I started calling my mum and friends.
I even texted a few.
At around 11+, the security guards got us all to stand.
He distributed sticker tags to us.
I was number 266 which means that I'm the 266th person in line.
I was happy because it means that I will get to audition on the next day because it was stated that only the first 500 will get to audition.
And then they also told us that we could go home if we wanted to but just make sure that we are back in line at 7am.
It was tempting to go home and sleep.
But then again, I decided to just stay there.
After getting our sticker tags, we settled down....for good.
I quickly made friends with the people there again.
There was this girl, her name is E-van.
That's right, there's a hyphen in her name.
SO COOL~!
She's really friendly.
And then there's this group of guys who are accompanying their friend.
They're really funny.
And then there's this other guy whom I can say has been in every talent show ever.
He was in the 2nd season of Idol.
I got to ask him about how the process work and stuff.
And throughout the night, we just chatted.
They played games.
Me and Wan listened to music once in a while.
We went to the toilet when nature called.
Oh,
And I was quite annoyed with people in the queue who were smoking.
It was so inconsiderate of them.
Smoking is bad for your voice.
If you want to ruin your voice, go ahead but why try to ruin others'?
GRRRR
The memorable part was the sing along together.
There's like one group playing guitar and the other group will play along and sing.
We would just sing along to them.
I remembered singing "She Will Be Loved". "I'm Yours"...
I kinda miss those moments.
Anyways...
I did sleep.
But it was only through 1 song.
I remembered I was listenening to "I thought I lost you".
When I woke up, it was already at "I wanna be with you".
When I scrolled back, there was a song in between which was "I try".
LOL~!!!
At around 6.30am, I was washing up.
The toilets were jammed up.
Guys were doing their hair and everything else possible.
At around 7am,
the security guards got us to rearrange ourselves and position ourselves in the order of our sticker tags.
Of course, I was the 266th person.
Once we got into the arrangement, we sat down again.
OH,
and I hate sitting down all the time cuz of my jeans.
It was kinda low and tight.
And I had to keep pulling my shirt down.
GRRRR...
And then over there, I made friends again.
HAHAH!
They were really funny.
They joke like how me and my friends would joke.
At 8+, the Idol crew began playing music through the speakers.
I remembered them playing remixed versions of Poker Face and I hate that I love you so.
And then suddenly, we heard Gurmit Singh's voice saying Hello!
And then we saw him standing with Hady Mirza!
That's right!
Hady Mirza-Singapore Idol and Asian Idol!
He is the co-host of Singapore Idol season 3!
I was starstrucked for a few mins and began texting people!
We had to do those "I am the next Singapore Idol" thing for the trailers of Idol.
Oh, and by then, the queue was already SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG!!!!!!!!
I am glad I was there very, very early although I was sleepy.
We waited till 11.15am before I got to register.
That was the moment when I got my AUDITION NUMBER TAG!
And we had to stand in front of the Singapore Idol poster and get our photo taken.
We then sat down for a while.
By then, they already broke us up into batches of 5.
They brought us up into the HOLDING ROOM which is actually a movie theatre.
We thought it was just going to be a while but then it became really long.
The seats were real comfy and the aircon too.
I fell asleep for like 20 mins.
Apparently, we were supposed to be interviewed by the crew first before we get to audition.
But for my case, it was straight to audition!
More about that in just a while.
Oh,
around 2+, Gurmit and Hady just crashed into the room and they got us to play games and sing along together.
What was happening there at the same time was also camera interviews with random contestants.
They would sing to the camera.
I got kinda intimidated because ...WOW! THEY SOUND REALLY GOOD!
They moved us around for about twice.
At 3.30pm, we were called in for Auditions.
It was THE MOMENT.
The audition was held at another theatre.
I was the first to audition from my batch.
Before we walk in, they briefed us on what to say/do and stuff.
I was so HAPPY and GLAD that Syafiqah was there with me outside the room.
She told me it was that this was what I've always been wanting.
I went in...
I introduced my name, song and artist.
I was asked to re-adjust my tag as the judges could not see it.
The judges were the producers(*I think...)
I began to sing...
***While I was singing, I really let go of my voice.
I have this tendency of restricting my singing.
But during the audition, I just let it all out and I was really comfortable.
I couldn't even believe how I was singing.
After the audition, I exit the room and waited.
After everyone in my batch had auditioned, we was brought to another location.
They called it the Results Room.
I WAS NERVOUS
The results were quick though.
I sat down.
They called my number.
Congratulations, you have made it to the second round.
I couldn't believe it!
I AM GOING TO MEET DICK LEE, FLORENCE LIAN & KEN LIM!
Instead of the YELLOW TICKET that we see on American Idol, it was a BLUE TICKET.
I will be called by the producers for the next round of auditions on one of these days:
22nd, 23rd, 24th & 25th.
and...
I will need to bring a minimum of 5 family members of friends.
You will get to accompany me through the waiting time and wait outside the room.
WHO WANTS TO GO WITH ME????
You can tag me, text me or TELL ME IN PERSON!
I want all of you to be there and support me!
So yeah...that was all for the journey.
After that, me and Syafiqah went to eat because I have been starving for 19 hours.
*YIKES!
Ok...here are the pictures with captions:

Saw these GIANT HANNAH MONTANA banners at Plaza Singapura.
I went GAGA!

My Audition Number Tag

Check out the GIANT STICKERS at THE CATHAY. SO GRAND!

...Reaching the registration counters...

I love the words there. Looks like a movie premiere.

The earlier sticker that I got.

When I was lying down, this was the view of the sky at 4am.
How often do you sleep in the middle of town right?

Saw this poster at The Cathay too!
I went GAGAGAGAGAGA AGAIN!

This was how the queue was at night.

Alright people~
SEE YA'LL!!!
