there's gotta be more to life
Hey~!!!
I bet you guys want to know about my audition today right?
Well..
to cut the suspense...
I DIDN'T MAKE IT!
Ok..let me give you the exact details.
Basically, I reached Marina Bay Floating Platform at 1pm.
We had to enter from this 'secret' door.
We had to queue up in front of a lift for about say 10 minutes before they actually brought us to the 2nd level.
It was there that we got our sticker tags one more time and had to sit in the holding room and wait.
A lot of things were going on.
The usuals:
Interviews with contestants...
Contestants singing to the camera...
etc, etc, etc.
The wait wasn't very long.
SERIOUS.
At around 1.45pm, we were called out to move again.
This time, to level 3(*I think).
In the lift, we were told by the crew that once the door opens, we have to move to the left and supporters to the right.
And so that was what I did.
Gurmit was outside the door waiting for contestants to come out and tell him whether or not they make it through.
and then...
I was called in.
Inside, it wasn't immediately an entry to the judges.
I had to like wait some more.
There were like 3 other contestants before me.
I tried as much as possible to relax by doing the hoedown throwdown and jumping around.
Hady was there too.
He asked me if I was nervous.
I told him that I was trying to keep my nerves down.
He didn't know Rascal Flatts and so I told him to watch Hannah Montana The Movie!
HAHAH!
I was persuading him to go watch it and convinced him that I am a fan of Hannah.
Oh, and he even told me to say 'Hi' to my mum after I told him that my mum is a fan of his.
=P
I saw the producer cum ex-lecturer in my school, Mr Loh.
I said 'Hi' to him and he asked if I was his student.
I told him that he ever interviewed me for Specialist Diploma before.
And he was nice to wish me good luck.
Actually, Hady and all the other crew wished me luck too.
THANKS YA'LL~!!
Then it was the moment.
I was starstrucked when I saw the judges.
It was really them!
TO 'LEEN: I actually told Dick Lee that you're his fan.
I also complimented on each one of them.
I hope to see my audition clip on TV. (*or maybe not...)
When I sang, the judges didn't cut me off whatsoever.
But their expressions were quite misleading I should say.
It's like I thought they liked it but they didn't.
So yeah..
their comments were like:
"You lack the vocal prowess for a competition like this"
And minutes before the audition, I was told by this lady producer outside that I should show my personality even if it means that I have to argue with them.
So I sort of like 'argued' but in a nicer way.
I begged.
HAHAH!!
I asked if they would give me the chance to sing another song.
But they said it would still be the same because it's not good.
And then finally I gave up because I couldn't say anything more.
Ken Lim didn't say anything I think.
It was mostly Dick Lee and Florence Lian commenting.
Oh well, guess it wasn't my luck.
But I wasn't the only one not in luck.
Even before my audition, everyone that left the room had no golden ticket.
It was only the girl before me that got the yellow ticket.
And then subsequently no one else had it.
I guess competition is really tough this year and the judges have really really high expectations.
Oh well, let's see who wins the competition this year!
I can't wait to watch the series though!
HAHAH!
Oh, and then after my audition,
I left the room and Hady and Syafiqah were like waiting for me.
I was all jumpy and told them that I didn't get it.
I didn't want to be all sad and grumpy.
When Hady asked me what the judges said, I told him I couldn't remember.
STM(*Short Term Memory)
He even made me and Syafiqah do a silly skit which I think might be shown on TV!
WOOHOO~!!!
Afterwards,
I waited quite a while before I was interviewed by the crew.
The girl who was after me also didn't get it.
And she told me that I sounded good in there.
Well, not my luck.
And she even told me that we are like products and we just need to know how to market ourselves.
Which come to think, is really true.
I guess that's what the judges want.
You know how they would make us stand in front of the logo and talk to the camera?
Well, I had to do just that.
They asked me again what the judges said and how I felt.
I gave them my honest opinions.
I even gave fashion advice to Ken Lim.
LOOK OUT FOR THAT~!!!
And so my Singapore Idol journey has ended.
But I'm sure there are better things waiting for me up ahead.
To me, I am proud of myself for getting this far.
For being able to meet the real judges.
Just like the title of my post.
There's more to life out there for me to explore and a lot more opportunity awaits me.
And I just love what Jovis said to me in her text today:
"Every obstacle build up to success"
And I thank everyone who has been showing me support since forever.
This is not the end.
This is just the beginning.
Till next time~
